How to get more sales on your website using Instagram

There's a big misconception that your social media, especially Instagram and your website do the same thing for your business. Some people think and assume they only need one or the other because they ultimately “do the same thing”.

The reality is that they both do very different things

but your fitness business will be more successful when you use them together 👊🏼

Do you need both social media AND a website?

The short answer is Hell Yes! 🙌🏻

Here’s why having a social media presence and a website is crucial for your business ⬇️

Your social media helps create awareness for your business while having a website establishes you as an authority in your niche, as well as helping to build a more personal connection. Together, they help attract your ‘ideal audience’ and help to communicate what your business does or what your product or service is.

Without one or the other, your audience may be confused about who you are and what you do. The best way to eliminate any confusion is to ensure your website and social media pages complement each other and tie in together using the same visual branding elements (i.e. colours, images, fonts)

This partnership entices your social media followers to visit your website and convert them into paying clients!

By strategically using your website together with your social media, your sales will increase!

So What should my website focus on?

The focus of your website will depend on the kind of business you have; here are some examples:

✔️ Establish credibility (establish as an expert in your field),

✔️ Be liked & trusted by your audience,

✔️ Showcase results & testimonials and entice people to get similar results,

✔️ Position your brand in a more premium way.

And how do I get people to visit my website?

You may be wondering exactly how to get people to visit your website, especially if many of them are used to browsing your social media?

Here's the thing: you must give them a good reason to visit your website! One of the best ways to drive your audience to your site is to think about what problem you can solve for them and create content based on that. For example, this can be a piece of value in the form of a Blog or a lead magnet (such as a downloadable checklist or a guide). Ideally, you would solve some kind of problem for your audience before you drive them to your product or service.

7 WAYS to DRIVE YOUR AUDIENCE TO VISIT YOUR WEBSITE:

  1. Talk about your website inside your Instagram posts and captions and drive your audience to your site by saying: “Click the link in my bio to______ “ (fill in the blank!)

  2. Mention your website on Instagram stories, share behind the scenes of your website and add your website link. Remember to personalize your link with an attention-grabbing; e.g: get my best results

  3. Create a free ‘lead magnet’ such as a guide or an E-book for your audience to download (this must be of value to them).

  4. Create a Contest or a Giveaway (drive your audience to enter a giveaway form, which they would fill out; e.g. “Enter to win your own & personal Meal Planner at www.yourwebsite.com

  5. Invite a guest Blog contributor. By collaborating you will get more eyeballs on your website.

  6. Collaborate with someone else and be a guest contributor on their Blog.

  7. Write emails driving people to a page: a new Blog, or you can briefly tell a client’s success story inside your email and include a button for your audience to read the full story on your website’s Testimonial page.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR WEBSITE SALES IN 3 WAYS:

1. Study your website analytics

Study your website analytics and see if your website is getting a flow of visitors. You should be able to view your website traffic either in the back end of your site or inside Google Analytics. If your traffic is down - this is a factor that you need to put more effort into driving people to your site (through both social media and email).

2. Revisit your niche

If you are trying to appeal to everyone - you will appeal to no one. The truth is, the more specific you are with who you're targeting on your site - the better. Here's what you can do:

✔️ Go over your website copy (including headings & subheadings) and ensure you are speaking in the language that your 'ideal client' will connect with and understand.

✔️ Include more words such as 'you' to make it sound you are speaking directly to the reader. Remember that your audience will want to be the ‘hero’ of your message, and the way to do this is to convert your copy from talking about yourself - to talking about them.

✔️ Search through your copy and look for the words “I, me, my, we, ours”. Then replace, rewrite & reposition to use these words instead: “you, your, yours”.

✔️ Make sure you've mentioned and listed the problems they are facing day-to-day. People care most about having their needs met, their problems solved, their fears calmed and their desires satisfied.

✔️ It can also help if you describe the person who's your 'ideal client' by asking a question: "Are you a tired working Mum, who wishes to get her body back in shape?"

✔️ Ensure you have images of your past clients that are relatable (this is important for new potential clients to see on your website)

Putting the above into work, you can ensure that your website directly targets the right niche - this is one of the most important and hardest parts.

3. Make sure your website is effective & simple to use

  1. You need to make sure your website is very easy to use, especially on mobile. If it's not, then, unfortunately, your audience may not stick around.

  2. Make it extremely easy for your audience to get in touch with you on your website. You need to have clear call-to-actions throughout your website. They should not have to look around for a contact form or a button. In addition to this, make sure your contact forms are not asking too many questions; you need to make it quick for your audience to enquire.

  3. Include as much social proof as possible (results and testimonials are crucial for providing credibility).

  4. Lastly, make sure your website speaks to your ideal client and uses effective headings and subheadings. People often skim-read website pages. Therefore it's essential that you divide your copy into short and easy-to-read paragraphs (paired with captivating Headings.)
